Menfornat USB Flashdisk di Ubuntu Linux memang agak ribet bila di bandingkan dengan di Windows. Ada 2 Cara memformat Flash disk di Ubuntu Linux Anda :
1. Format lewat terminal :
- masuk ke terminal lalu ketikkan $ sudo su
- masukan passwors anda lalu ketikkan # fdisk -l
- lalu cek dimana posisi flash disk anda, jika anda punya satu hard disk biasanya posisi Flash disk Anda di /dev/sdb1 namun jika anda mempunyai lebih dari satu Hard disk di PC anda maka posisi Flash Disk anda bisa saja sdc atau sdd. Jadi anda harus teliti melihat posisi UFD anda jika tidak ,akan salah format dan data anda akan hilang.
- setelah anda tahu posisi Flash disk anda lalu unmount flash disk anda dengan mengetik : # umount /dev/sdb1 (jika posisi UFD di sdb1)
- setelah ter unmount saatnya memformat dengan mengetikkan : # mkfs.vfat -F32 -nNamaUSBanda -I /dev/sdb1 (jika posisi UFD di sdb1)
- Setelah itu cabut usb anda dan colokkan kembali.
- Selamat Flash disk anda sudah terformat.
- jika Ubuntu anda belum terinstall Gparted, maka masuk ke Terminal lalu ketikkan $ sudo apt-get install gparted
- setelah terinstall lalu masuk ke System-Administration-Partition Editor
- masukkan passwors anda lalu di pojok kanan atas di klik lalu pilih /dev/sdb (jika posisi USB anda di sdb,untuk melihat posisi anda liat jumlah volume partisinya )
- Setelah itu klik kanan pada tabel USB anda lalu pilih "format to" pilih FAT32
- lalu klik tombol Apply ,tunggu sampai proses selesai.
- Setelah selesai tutup aplikasi Partition Editor.
- Setelah itu cabut usb anda dan colokkan kembali.
- Selamat Flash disk anda sudah terformat.
